Goals Achieved.

At the end of last year, Alice posted in the forums asking what our goals for the new year were.

This is what I posted in reply.

  1. Little tack I want to go smaller than Schleich, StableMate then maybe MiniWinnie who knows?

  2. More Ponies! ok, maybe not but I would like to have some good photo show level models.

  3. That leads on to my next goal, 2020 has led to photo showing making its return online. I want to enter some more.

  4. Outside of the model horse world, The 2021 Starling Nats are in Auckland this year and I want to do ok maybe top 75% if I sail open fleet? I am NCEA level one this year so working all of that out. And lastly, I want to ride more.

  1. Ok I think I can safely say I have done this.

  2. Well, I was actually pretty controlled on the pony buying front.

Ok I have A LOT more stablemates than I did at the start of the year but most of them were gifts. I brought the CollectA micro minis in lockdown and then the blind bag SM's so yeah the pony buying control was going great until lockdown.

3. Until recently, I haven’t done much photo showing but then I discovered OMHPS and have started entering quite a few (I picked up a 6th in a class of 18 the other week)

  1. Ok let’s break this up

    1. Starling Nationals, I had a broken finger. I sailed anyway. It was super windy. Broken fingers and wind don’t mix. Enough said.

    2. Sailing was one of the many many things that couldn't happen over lockdown, and honestly, I wasn't too sure whether or not I wanted to keep sailing long term. I gave double handed (two people to a boat) sailing a go before lockdown in the new RS Feva's brought by the yacht club, it was fun but I couldn't see myself sailing them competitively. Then lockdown kept on happening and in order to be sticking to the level three stage two rules, we stuck to the same pairing every week. Now I have found my space in crewing, Jayda is an awesome helm and we totally click, I am happy and ready to see what the future holds.

2. NECA. I honestly have no words to summarise how crazy this year has really been. there was a lot of good however. I loved most my classes I took this year (not PE) Gateway was one of the best things that has ever happened in my life (It found me HRHC, Horses, horsie friends and I can pick up some credits along the way)

3. The big one, the thing I chucked on that list because why not. I never ever thought that I would have so many amazing horses in my life now. Molly, Paddy, Luke, Maggie, Marlow and Enya, and all of their humans have made my life whole and wholesome. Luke can be a bit special sometimes, Molly is an old slobbery darling and well Paddy is a unicorn without a horn and I wouldn’t change a thing.

2021 has been a wild wild year, with a lot of highs and lows. At the end of 2020 I thought it would take a lot to make a worse year. In so many ways I think that title could easily be passed on to 2021 but I think the good maybe a slightly larger. There are 26 more days in this frankly weird year. A lot can go wrong in 26 days but a lot can also go right. Here's to hoping that 2022 will bring a return to normal (whatever that means).

So cool Emily, thanks for sharing! Look at all those goals you've achieved, you must be proud :D I didn't realise you found HRHC through Gateway, so cool! Sounds like a big year for you with heaps of cool things, this is awesome :)

Yeah quite frankly when I found the post it made the whole year look a whole lot more succesful. I knew that they (HRHC) was there, In fact when I was very little I went to the pony rides, but I didn't know they ran or what a awesome bunch of horses and people were down the driveway.
